Mulch is very light it's only around 150lbs per yard.
We have a 1yd bucket and a half yd bucket so just one big scoop is a yard or two small scoops also equals a yard.
1 yd will cover up to 100sq ft at 3" thick.
There is 27 cubic sq ft in a yard.
Ourt trucks can hold anywhere from 1 to 3 yards at a time.
Pull your truck past the pile of mulch that you want. Leave plenty of room for the loader to be able to come from both sides of truck or trailer.
The black, brown and red dyed mulch that we carry are best for curb appeal. They are pine bark that go through a double dyed and treated process to ensure you get the maximum longevity out of your mulch.
The primum red oak and double ground hardwood are all natural mulch that goes through the grinder twice making it a much finer mulch. This compacts well allowing you to control wash out areas and apply to steep hills. It also helps to keep the weeds back allowing you to blow leafs off of any debris you commonly get in your landscape. It also helps break down and condition the soil while providing moisture control and insulation for your root systems in the winter months. The premium red oak has a natural bug deterrent that works great for flower beds and gardens. They are both just a really good all purpose mulch that can be applied to multiple areas in your landscape.
Everything we buy by the ton we sell by the ton. We weigh first with the loader using the 1 YD bucket. We have a scale on the loader so we both know exactly how much material is actually loaded. If you buy anything by the ton you need to be loaded first then pay after. If it's sold by the yard you can pay first then get loaded. Buying by the ton may seem to be inconvenient at first but this is the only way for us to not overload or over charge you. We offer an easy way to pay at the loader so you don't have to stop by the office and wait in line. Simply tell the operator what you want and they will load you first then take your card on the loader. If you are paying by cash or check you will need to stop by the office after getting loaded to pay.
1 ton is 2,000 lbs. Most trucks can hold up to a ton or ½ ton.
If you have a smaller truck ½ ton is all you want to put on that.
All of are sand, top soil, and granite material will cover up to 100 SQ FT (10X10) at about 3 inches thick per ton. Same coverage goes with mulch and vita grow gardening soil.
The decorative crooked creek stone varies in coverage per ton.
The pea gravel stone and pebble stone will cover 100 SQ FT at 3 inches
The 1-3 inch egg stone will also cover 100 SQ FT with just one layer at the thickness of the rock.
The 2-4 inch crooked creek stone will cover up to 60 SQ FT per ton.
The 4-8 inch crooked creek stone will cover up to 50 SQ FT per ton.
We offer delivery so if you ever need more than just a few tons or yards, we can bring it to you making your job easier and quicker to finish. We can haul up to 20 yards of mulch at a time and 6 tons of Rock, Sand, Stone or Topsoil. Vita grow gardening soil is a lighter soil we can haul up to 10 yards at a time. We try to get the materials as close to the job site as we can but typically we dump in the driveway. This makes it easy to clean up and not lose any material. If you would like it to be placed in the yard or anywhere off the road or driveway let us know. It needs to be a dry level area - no low limbs or power lines.
To place a delivery order simply stop by the office or call anytime. We need a two to three day notice so if you would like it delivered on Friday please do your best to let us know by the first of the week..
If you don't know how much you need simply get the width and length of the area you want to apply material. Let us know what your measurements are and how thick you want it to be. We will calculate it for you so you will get the right amount saving you and us money and time. It is always best to over measure s little bit. That way you have extra incase you run short it's better to have more than not enough.
For example, if you have a flower bed you want to cover with mulch that is 40 feet long and 6 feet wide you would simple multiply them together to get your SQ footage:
40 x 6= 240 sq ft then divided by 100 equals 2.4
So you would need two and a half yards to cover that area at 3 inches thick or half of that if you only need an inch to top off old mulch. We recommend at least three to four inches for new areas with no existing mulch.
